What We Are Brite Ideas, an event management company was set up by Devika Bhojwani in 1997. Brite Ideas will manage an event from its inception to its final stages including conceptualization and design of the décor, sound, light and ambience, providing a high profile guest-list and co-ordination with the press for the pre and post publicity of the event. The
Moving force behind Brite Ideas - Devika Bhojwani In the late 1980's, Devika pioneered the revival of Khadi in India and turned it into a fashion statement. She later joined Plus Channel, the country's leading producer of television serials as associate producer. |
She was behind India's first English serial, A Mouthful of Sky. Devika was also instrumental in the success of the 'Seduction of Spirit' a weeklong mind-body workshop conducted by internationally renowned Dr. Deepak Chopra, in Goa in 1996 and 1997. As the Public Relations Consultant to the National Center for the Performing Arts Mumbai, Devika was instrumental in organizing the yearlong Ardh Katha Festival to celebrate India's fiftieth year of independence. Living legends such as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Kishori Amonkar, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Ustad Vilayat Khan performed. In the same year she was actively involved with The British Council India's, The Enduring Image Exhibition in collaboration with the British Museum in London, where she organized a fusion concert of folk music from various states in India - Bengal, Rajasthan, Punjab and Kerala at the Horniman Circle Gardens in Mumbai. Given her diverse experience, it seemed a perfect idea to set up an Event Management Company, where she could share her experiences and her Brite Ideas with others. Under her expertise, over the last few years, Brite Ideas has managed a number of prestigious events such as the launch of the Steinmetz Blue Diamond in Mumbai, Omega-Rohit Bal fashion show in Mumbai. The Chopard International Watch and Jewellery shows in Mumbai and Delhi in India, the First Chateau Indage Wine Festival in Narayangaon near Poona in India, Creative Crucible for Leo Burnett, The Indian launch of the champagne La Grande Dame from the House of Veuve Clicquot, Ermenegildo Zegna Launch Event in support of The Horniman Circle Association's "Banking District" etc. Singer,
actress and an organizer of events for good causes - all rolled into
one, makes Devika Bhojwani. Devika believes that whatever she
does, must in some way, benefit other human beings and provide an
increasing value in all our lives - Be it an event for AIDS or
Restoration and Conservation of Heritage sites, her events do manage to
send a message across. It is this belief that has led her to set up a
foundation "The Women's Cancer Initiative" in partnership with
The Tata Memorial Hospital, one of India's leading Cancer Hospitals. She
is in the process of organising a series of events to raise funds for
this foundation as well.
